Spotted this one on special at Dan Murphy , and considering it takes quite some effort to ruin a Shiraz from Clare I figured it was worth a go.
The first 2 glasses went down a treat, washing down the spicy home-made pepperoni pizza, however once the food was done, some of the weaknesses in this wine revealed themselves. Whilst quite smooth there is slightly too much acid for my palate, flavour and length were ok but un-remarkable.
So to use the old cliché, an excellent pizza wine and certainly meets the standard for a $12 – 13 red, but I’ve had better.
